About the author;
saved June 2014 from her own web-site; which is no longer active.

“I am an author because I love and enjoy telling stories whether they are in the form of children’s stories, poems or full length novels.
It all started when I was at school and although I was NOT the top of the class in anything except for one lesson – essays. I even got commended on some occasions. This was the grounding that enabled me to become an excellent story teller in fact my school teacher told my mother I could go far in the world of writing.

Funny thing she was right!

When I left school I had ambitions to be an actress so I attended acting school in the west end. Wow – what a grounding for stories.  I began to write seriously some years later when my son was 2 and given an unusual Christmas present from my cousin – a rabbit dressed in a suit and he loved him, even more when I started to make up bedtime stories about the rabbit’s adventures or as he was now christened “Laughing Bunny”.

It now got serious as I started to put pen to paper and develop a couple of short stories surrounding Laughing Bunny. I read and reread the stories to my son and decided they could be good enough to be published.  I sent the first one to Nursery World and three weeks later got the reply every author dreams of – A YES! we would like to publish it and discuss a series. This developed into a contract that lasted over 2 years.

This lead to opportunities with other leading magazines and comics like “Princess”. Ultimately this enabled me to associate with many other areas including TV producers and my big break came when Lou Grade was looking for a script writer to develop Rupert the Bear into a full blown puppet series for ATV. Seventy-two scripts later this lead onto my long running Mumfie relationship.
Many other projects came along that enabled me to develop new skills in writing poems, children’s books, short stories for women’s magazines and now my autobiography.”

A full list of Marcia’s books has been recovered and is displayed here.
