My participation in the event was inadvertent. I decided to go shopping about two thirty thinking it would all be over. When I arrived at the St.John’s/Chapel Lane junction I was amazed that someone had leaked my intentions and a great crowd was waiting to greet me. I had a slightly mischievous thought which I did not pursue but I will always regret not nipping home to fetch my youngest son’s Wee Willie Winkie candle-stick. Not many people know I modelled for the sculpture at Vic. House roundabout.
